Can we (should we) have something like the statistics page of WP?

Something like that would be good to have but the problem we have is that we don’t have any reliable stats to work with right now. But this is something @james is working on.

A statistics page is in the works (probably after v1.2.0 is out) but that won’t really help us much for the purpose of adding new languages.
We could see which language people are using among the existing languages, but this can only tell us about existing languages.
We could see which country people’s servers are hosted in, but this has basically no correlation with spoken languages. For example ClassicPress official servers are in Germany and the Netherlands if I remember correctly.
The best way we currently have to look at this is by asking our community members. Last time we did this was in December and we haven’t fully acted on that information yet: Call for volunteers to translate ClassicPress

My idea was to see which locales are more populated AND IF we have enough people to cover at least those with a quality service for a first release.
Let’s say we can start with the x most populated that we have people available for. Then from there plan to add one locale at the time, while we call to the broader community for volunteers.
Something like: we want to be available for your locale, wanna help?
