It’s not about making it into a page builder, but simply improving already existing functionality. My suggestion is to do what you said in another post - make it better 
Whatever that looks like is for us to figure out. I just wanted to start that conversation.
Minimum would be changing “sidebar” to “widget area” in text and functions.
