You are obviously using CP2.2 rather than the nightly, which addresses that by also addressing the anomaly in media library behavior we inherited from WP.
Yes, 2.2 it is. So, all good then. Or will be soon. ![]()
So now youâre saying that a user should have to keep going back to a settings page to change upload category before going to the page from they want to upload a file?
No, I mean the default setting should be set in a settings page. After that, people can still change the category (as it is now) in the upload page, but changing the category when uploading wouldnât change the default. That seems normal behavior to me: set a default and override it when/if needed. See the wordpress settings concerning âDefault post settingsâ in the Discussion settings.
So you want us to behave like WordPress? No thanks! Weâve had quite enough of their specious âdecisions, not optionsâ philosophy. In CP, the user is king.
I never said Classicpress should behave like Wordpress. On the contrary, I really dislike the block editor and what Wordpress is currently doing.
I just pointed out some inconsistency in the UI behavior (compared to the rest of classicpress settings).

I couldnât replicate the issue with media categories not being properly displayed for each image in a specific view, but all the other issues reported in this thread have now been addressed in the nightly version.
