Requesting ELI5 for updating via WP-CLI

Hello, I’ve read that CP can be updated via WP-CLI. Would someone be willing to lay out the specifics? I don’t want to update from wordpress.org by mistake.

WP-CLI works pretty well with ClassicPress.
To update core it’s just wp core update.
