Add Site Options panel with exportable/importable settings

Settings could include things like:
-enable/disable wpautop
-enable/disable theme and plugin editing (role-based?)
-enable/disable autoupdate for core updates
-etc
Could be grouped under various tabs, like ‘Content’, ‘Security’, etc

Please re-make this petition as multiple: one to import/export existing settings (I do think this is a good idea and would vote for that) and one for each new setting you’d like to see.

I think if we limit the scope of this petition to an option to import/export settings, this could be a good petition. Any time there are settings in any system, I do find it very helpful to have an option to export/import settings - be it for backup reasons, migration, or set up of a new system with the same settings. But this would add a new feature to the core. Is it (import/export settings) something we want in the core?

Naah, plugin. And there are many already existing ones. Also, think of “add to core” as a feature that has to be maintained, just as if it were another plugin.
