I’m not very familiar with proxy services… my production site seems to be getting a HUGE increase in traffic from my own IP address… does anyone know of a plugin that can block spoofers, or prevent the use of my IP?
That’s best addressed from outside ClassicPress. Talk to your host about what they can do.
IP addresses can’t really be hidden is my understanding, because they are fundamental to the routing of packets of information travelling around the internet. Without an IP address you can’t send emails or use a web browser for example.
If you are seeing lots of traffic to your site from your IP address - are you talking about your home IP address or the server itself? If it’s your computer it might be wise to scan locally for malware. If it’s the server connecting to itself, it is worth checking the CRON system both on the server and in ClassicPress.
