CP in sub-folder cannot send emails

I installed CP v2 from the nightly build download. I put it in a sub-folder, because I have an SMF forum in the root folder.

The site works as it should, except I cannot send emails or configure SMTP. Is this a CP problem or possibly a zone editor problem with my hosting?

Searched on Google but couldn’t find anything discussing the problem. I’ve run out of ideas.

Don’t worry about it.

I turned on debugging and got a host of errors, so I deleted the installation.
