Just did a fresh install of ClassicPress version 1.0.1 - the .htaccess was not created properly.
What is your permalink setting under Settings > Permalinks?
/%postname%/
that rectified it - After a fresh install, I’ve been entering the info manually as it was not there.
I don’t know why the default setting do not produce the info, but by using a specific permalink everything is fine.
