Customizer Color Controls Broken

Hi all.
It seem as though that the Customizer Color controls are broken in ClassicPress.

I’ve made sure that there are no plugin active in both installs and can confirm that the option works in WordPress but not in ClassicPress.

Ways to reproduce:

  1. Activate the TwentySeventeen theme and go to the Customizer.
  2. Click on the Colors Section and select the color picker
  3. Try sliding the slider up and down

I can provide a screencast if needed (seems there’s no option to upload a video here)!

TIA

Which version of CP are you using? The nightly version has this fixed.

Thank you for the response @timkaye

I’m on the current stable version 2.4.1 via migration.

I’ll spin up a local env of the nightly version and check that out. Do we know when the next stable version is coming out? Don’t want to deploy the nightly version on production sites.

As an after thought, is there a ClassicPress Beta tester plugin like there is for WordPress?

We haven’t set a date for the release of v2.5 yet, but I think it’s likely to be weeks away rather than months.

The Switch to ClassicPress plugin enables you to switch between versions (in the Advanced Controls section) including to nightly versions, which you can get here: Releases · ClassyBot/ClassicPress-v2-nightly · GitHub

Thank you once again @timkaye - weeks sounds good enough.

Switched to nightly build and can confirm its fixed!

my guess would be that this happened because the ongoing work of replacing the backbone.js and jQuery-powered functions with primarly native / vanilla Javascript.

That seems to have been the case as one of my customizer based plugin wasn’t working either - it now does on the nightly build :slightly_smiling_face:
