When in ClassicPress on the Add Themes page, I see a lot of themes tagged “FSE themes don’t work with ClassicPress”.
I cannot find a way to filter them out, and I have to ask, if a theme doesn’t work with ClassicPress, why is it being displayed?
I’ve been hunting for a new theme. I purchased Hueman Pro a few years back, but it’s in-and-out of support, currently out. My sites work but I haven’t been able to use the Customize pages since last fall. The vendor isn’t responding, yet they’re still actively selling the theme.
Thanks for using ClassicPress! The reason that those themes still show is that they are retrieved from WordPress, who obviously have no interest in making it easy to filter out those themes. We hope to do what you ask at our end but the current means of retrieving those themes, inherited from when we forked WordPress, makes it hard.
There is, however, good news to report on this front! First, we are currently working on a new method of retrieving themes from WordPress. Once we have that working, we can investigate doing precisely what you are asking for.
If you go to ClassicPress Directory Integration | ClassicPress Plugin you will find our Directory Integration plugin, which will enable you to search these themes from within your ClassicPress installation. (Currently, this doesn’t show images, but we’re working on that.)
