I wanted to try importing some old WP blogs into my new Classic Press installation. I went to Tools and clicked on WordPress importer. The first time I clicked, it gave me a message at the top that said, “Installation failed: The package could not be installed.” The second time I clicked it, the orange wheel on the page started spinning…and it’s been spinning for half an hour. Does the importer in ClassicPress not work as it does in regular WordPress?
Hi, the lastest version of the Importer plugin isn’t compatible with ClassicPress. We are working on making a copy of the Importer plugin specifically for CP. In the meantime, download previous version 0.7 and install it manually. That should work. You can get that version here here:
