Not surprised that Lord of the Rings is on your favourite book list. I could have guessed that somehow.

Yep, I saw the movie version of the first book before reading the books.

Ah, right. As you probably found out, there is a lot more in the books, but I thought they did an OK job with the movie. And of course you get to see some amazingly stunning New Zealand scenery.
And quite a few Australian actors.
