I have resurrected an old website built on WordPress (currently 6.9) and Restrict Content Pro (the paid version). RCP, however, is not getting consistent updates, and it looks abandoned. Payment still works, but it’s not using the latest Stripe and PayPal features. My plan is to move to ClassicPress and a membership plugin.

I have built a membership plugin with offloaded Stripe and PayPal gateways. This means a lot is managed directly in Stripe Dashboard and PayPal. No refunds, no cancelling from WordPress. It might not appeal to everyone.

This membership plugin is tailored for ClassicPress. I called it FX Memberships. The Stripe gateway works wonders! I haven’t fully tested PayPal yet.

While I further test it and maybe even migrate my website to ClassicPress, here is the GitHub repository, if you want to help with testing:

I have an updated version of this plugin, 1.0.1 on GitHub, with updated Stripe and PayPal APIs.

I have also added an extensive Help section.

NOTE: Freshly released, so if you run into any edge cases, let me know.

Hi,

The plugin requires PHP 8.5, are there plans to support older versions as well? My (budget) host, for example, currently supports up to PHP 8.4.

Sure, I can change it. There is nothing that needs 8.5+, it’s just my servers are always at the latest version.

You can submit a PR and I’ll approve it.

I changed it to PHP 8.4 and installed the plugin without problems.

Then I read this on the settings page, which made me realize I cannot proceed with testing, as I don’t use Stripe nor PayPal plans.

1. Create products and prices (Stripe) or subscription plans (PayPal) in your payment provider dashboard.

Happy to hear it’s working.

And yes, this plugin was supposed to be an alternative to Paid Memberships Pro, so Stripe and PayPal are a requirement.
