Hello, I have a customer that wants to move to ClassicPress and Classic Commerce.
She has WP5.8 and WooCommerce 5.6 right now.
I know migrating to ClassicPress is no problem for this setup, but does Classic Commerce work with WooCommerce 5.6 databases/settings/whatever?
Does anyone have any experience with this? Please advise.
Yes! I just did a test move from WooCommerce 5.6.0 to Classic Commerce yesterday and it looks fine. Note that you can install both and deactivate one and activate the other to switch between them.
The main issue will be any extensions that are being used for the current WC install. These may not necessarily work. You might need the special compatibility plugin, or they may not work at all if they are built for later versions of WC.
Right, everything else should work as-is, the only concern is moving from WC5.6 to CC.
If that works, as far as you can tell, then I can proceed to migrate things over in a few days with more certainty haha.
And yes, we’ll probably need the fake WC as well
