New content email notifications

new content email notifications where people can subscribe to be notified of new content globally, per-topic or per-page/post (when a page/post is updated)

this could be managed in the form of a checkbox added to the publish widget on the post editor where, if checked, subscribers will be notified of new/updated content

would also need ability to manage subscribers (manually add, remove, export)

Not everyone needs this feature, so it’s unlikely to be implemented in the core. This is plugins territory, and we do have Subscribe2 available.
