I’m looking to build a new company site entirely on ClassicPress. Attempting to avoid any WP plugins if possible.
Plan to use FX Builder from @Ciprian. I am looking for a ClassicPress bootstrap or bare-bones theme, with mobile menu already enabled.
I also need to be able to add headers and footers (like WP page builders), if any CP themes here have that capability. Otherwise I can pull in PHP templates or shortcodes from FX Builder.
I need a theme that will be stable and well supported. I’m already aware the theme directory exists on CP.
I had tried so many themes over the years that I eventually did fork one and make my own from that. I am not sure what the best path is here, I doubt including a minimal theme will get many people to switch, and if not made by a CP community member, why even do that? In that case I would say just continue to include the ‘CP Theme’ if it was for the fact that I think it can break older (WP4.9) sites and that is why 2017 is actually default.
Agencies like mine, and a lot of users, do like to use minimal and bootstrap themes. We don’t need all the layout and theme options, and they load faster as well! Especially if we are loading page builders and WooCommerce on top of that…
For example on WP sites we try to use Hello Theme whenever possible. This comes from experience in a production environment, site building for both clients and other agencies. We need something clean and simple to get the work done.
What I was asking, is if someone could recommend a bootstrap or basic theme with a mobile menu.
Have you tested XSimply CP, it appears to have much of what you might need including a mobile menu. Building a Child Theme from it might allow you to add widgets in the for header and footer as needed.
Your comment was interesting though, and I disagreed with you on it. I think there is a place for a “Hello” type theme for CP, that is already developed and maintained here in the community via the repository. It probably already exists - which is one reason I asked.
Cheers
@Web242 My issue was that for some reason I posted thinking this was discussion about a default theme for CP, which sort of means everything I said was misplaced. Not only that my comments had nothing to do with your question, but also my thoughts on a theme directory are not the same as they are for a ‘default CP theme’.
