Screen elements shifted to RH sidebar

Some of my pages have an issue in the edit page whereby the screen elements that are usually below the text field are on the right. (e.g. Comments, discussion, revisions)

These then obscure the update button.

Can anyone please help?

I think those widgets have moved somehow. Can you drag them back, below the post editor?

No, they won’t drag

I may be misunderstanding, but isn’t the position right/left higher/lower changed (or toggled) with the arrow buttons at the top right of the title field (e.g., “Comments”)?

When you say “they won’t drag”, is there an error in the console? Also, what browser and OS are you on? Also, can you post a screenshot of what you see in the editor?

That only moves them up or down in the sidebar

It’s OK in Chrome, must be related to the menu issue in Safari in the other thread:

In my ClassicPress website, I can move them up and down using the arrows, and I can drag them between right-hand side and below editor. I am using Chrome.

If it’s working for you in Chrome, as well, but not in Safari, then it must be related to the other thread, yes.

The arrows in my screen move them up and down until they wrap left or right on the next click when the field is at the bottom of either the right or left column.

If it is related to the other thread, then the potential solution I have posted there is unlikely to solve it, because dashboard widgets do not use the same function as they don’t have parents.

PR to solve this problem has now been submitted here: Remove Safari fallbacks from SortableJS by KTS915 · Pull Request #1589 · ClassicPress/ClassicPress · GitHub

But sadly this issue still remains when the menu sorting fix is applied.

Can you try clearing all caches and then see how the Dashboard looks?

No different.

As above, it is fine with Chrome and I just tested in Firefox, also fine.

Hmm, do widgets work OK?

@MrLucky - The meta box issue is a bug in Safari.

Apple have fixed but that needs the new version to ship, in the meantime there is a fix in the thread below.

No, and I’m going to post about that in a separate thread.
