Updating Classic commerce from Version 1.0.4

I have a live site on v1.0.4 of CC
Easiest/safest way to update without losing any thing
There does not appear to be any link to do update.

Zip up existinc CC plugin

Backing up site first of course

Upload new version of CC
Extract
and keep fingers crossed?
