Whatever happened to ... translate.classicpress.net?

I was thinking the other day about translating CP into proper English because, tbf, it’s an international disgrace that the Queen’s English isn’t included in a project established by one of her own subjects (Scott).

I jest of course but it did lead me to discover that translate.classicpress.net is no longer active.

So I’m just wondering how we now go about translating CP?

On Slack @anon95694377 also offered some help for translating.

I believe when we had the infrastructure move (and isolation) that site came down but never went back up. In the new year we should figure out what our plan is.

Edit: @norske also offered some help. I will move the slack chat here for record.

Yes, we need to get this back online.

The code is still available at GitHub - ClassicPress/ClassicPress-Network: Old code repository for *.classicpress.net - Do not use!, and the parts related to translation need to be pulled out into a single site like we’ve done with www and docs.

If you’d like to help out with this let me know. I also have backups of the old site’s database which will probably be needed during this process.

I helped with the en-GB translation when the translate site was up.
