Where can I add meta tags to the head section?

Hi there!

I would like to add a meta tag to my CP site that has some verification properties with Mastodon. However, in the Customizer, there is no place where I can edit the tags in the head section of each page (or all at once). There also is no theme editor where I could just add this to the relevant file.

Is there a plugin that could help me with that? I would like to avoid editing files directly, because they could be overridden with a future Theme update. I use ClassicPress 2.3.1 and the ClassicPress TwentySeventeen child theme.

I use a plugin called ‘Header Footer Code Manager’ for adding scripts or CSS tweaks

Why couldn’t you just add them to your child themes header.php file as it won’t get overridden if it is a child theme. Or am I misunderstanding your request?

@MarcoZ yes, as Nootkan points out, using a child theme is best practice. Then you can modify as you please.

There are plenty of Header and Footer plugins on wordpress.org and I would think most of them would be compatible with ClassicPress.
