ClassicPress Plugin for Featured Image from URL

There’s a Wordpress plugin called FIFU Featured Image from URL (FIFU) – WordPress plugin | WordPress.org that I use to offload media. Are there any equivalent plugins for ClassicPress? The Wordpress plugin says “5.3 or higher”.

Many plugins set the minimum version to 5+ simply to avoid offering support for lower versions even if plugins work. Some functions were backported from WordPress 5+ to ClassicPress. I use Plugin Doctor - WPSeek.com to check plugins/themes for the minimum version based on the core functions used. When v2.0 drops, more plugins will work.

This helped me, you may need to edit the plugin to say 4.9 so it will install.

It looks like FIFU uses a function not currently supported by CP v1.x. So it wouldn’t work, but it will work with v2.0 when it’s out.

In the meantime, you can try the latest version of this plugin. It should work with CP. It’s not available in WP repo anymore:
