CP hosting for an ameture blind person AKA no terminals?

A big what’s up to everyone here on the forum! I just joined. OK OK there are blind people who are more experienced than me, and can definitely use terminals! Just not me. Why? because I never really learned how to do much development, and I’m just a blogger. I do enjoy tweaking with sites, don’t get me wrong!
I’ve been known to tweak the wp functions.php file a time or two. However, I don’t particularly want to use WP again because just stuff. I actually do enjoy manually installing things, I just can’t manage a VPS on my own. Also, I don’t want to use the GB editor, I love writing HTML, don’t stop me from writing HTML, stupid! I love the simplicity of the classic editor!
So yeah, I need super simple CP hosting where I can perform a manual install by uploading through the file manager, and then manually moving files. This is how I used to do my WP installs, until I used the scripts. It was fun doing it that way, because I got to take a peak at all the files! I have a few sites I’d like to revive, and one I’m setting up. I do enjoy installing scripts manually. I just don’t think I could manage the server myself.
I also have a site set up on micro.blog that I would consider migrating, if an importer exists. Or if there’s some way to do it without posting it all by hand.
So yeah, I suppose the question is is there simple CP hosting for someone who just wants to have fun writing, and do a bit of tweakingon the side? Because that’s fun too!
Oh yeah, I’m in US, if that matters.

Hi Hope @evidentiary , welcome!

@raygulick Ray, thank you for the mention.

Hope, yes, I can help you with this… and yes we are all “gutenberg free” here.

We do offer ClassicPress hosting with a standard cPanel account. So you can use File Manager as you please, FileZilla etc. You can do a manual install of CP if you wish, or you/we can install via Softaculous installer.

This is our ClassicPress Hosting Plans here. We could setup Addon Domains for you under one of those plans:

Alternatively, we are launching our Spark Web Hosting company next month, and will be offering ClassicPress there as well:

https://sparkwebhosting.com#hosting-plans
(but the Web242 Plans have higher IO and CPU resources).

I also see on a quick Google search that micro.blog content can be formatted for export to WordPress (ClassicPress would be same). It looks a bit involved but could be done (we could offer a quote and/or assistance importing etc).

Also, there is LightningBase, which Tim @timkaye recommends.

Reach out to me if you are interested.

It does look very cool! I do have a blog on micro.blog that i’d like to migrate, do I need to pay in international currency? I;m from the US. I just want to add that I was a WP user for about I don’t know 15 years. I wanted something different in like 2020, so I stopped using it. I also have at least two sites I want to start with, the one I’m bringing from micro.blog, and another I’d like to set up. Any suggestions?

@evidentiary Hope, please reach out to me directly to discuss details. Here as a direct message or via our contact page.

We are in Canada and our main server is the in US with Liquid Web. You can pay in USD which is converted to CAD on our end. Right now, the USD is nearly 1.4x so its costing you much less in USD terms.
Regards

OK I will do so, I’ve had a whole lot of stuff going on here lately! Last week was a mess!
