Further changes to ClassicPress governance (July 2021)

Previously:

Effective immediately, we are dissolving the previous “teams” structure because it has not proved adequate to organize the work that is happening and/or needs to be happening across the ClassicPress project, and many of the people who were designated as “team leads” on our official pages are actually not responding, requiring others to step in when someone else indicates they want to help with something. This is inefficient, unclear and has been discouraging to people who want to help.

Instead, the Directors will be responsible for keeping up with the work of interested volunteers on individual projects, and for facilitating the access and other resources these volunteers need in order to get things done.

My hope is that this new approach will be more organic and more flexible. And, if we find that we are able to attract and retain more contributors as a result of a simpler approach to contribution, then we can certainly consider reorganizing the way we structure ClassicPress contributions accordingly.

The content at https://www.classicpress.net/community/ and https://www.classicpress.net/democracy/ has been updated accordingly (mostly just removing the outdated sections and adding a link to this post), which is not intended to be a full solution but rather a reasonable patch for the issue of outdated governance information on our main site.
