ClassicPress release plan: Version 1.2.0

I’d like to schedule our next minor version release, version 1.2.0.

I plan for this release to contain the following changes:

  • Full compatibility with PHP 7.4.
  • Allow setting a custom image on the login screen. This will implement a relevant petition. This was planned to be included in version 1.1.0 but was rolled back due to some issues discovered in the rc1 release.
  • Other small changes and bugfixes that generally do not warrant a new release by themselves. The current list is available on GitHub.

The current timeline for this release is late February or early March. As is generally a good idea with new features, there will be a release candidate 1.2.0-rc1 first to make sure everything works as intended.

As agreed at our January meeting the committee will vote on new minor releases. This is an extra step we are trying for the first time now, but I think it is a good idea to make these decisions more transparent.
